Moonstones and Marind Ore are both resources that you're going to eventually need quite a bit of in Throne and Liberty in order to craft things; quite a lot of things, in fact. It can be daunting to look up a crafting recipe and see that you don't have nearly enough of a certain resource.

Luckily, neither Moonstones nor Marind Ore are too difficult to get your hands on. Sure, each of them is going to require a little bit of time and effort; occasionally even showing up at a certain place at a specific time. But compared to some things, collecting Moonstone and Marind Ore is going to be straightforward.
Where To Mine Moonstone
Moonstones are extremely simple to find, and if you've spent any time at all wandering around Solisium, you've probably seen some. Moonstones are found in outcrops located across the map, at which you mine the Moonstone and get the resource; this resource will be different Ores, depending on the type of Moonstone outcrop that it is.
Some are going to reward you with Manasteel and Pure Gold, while others are going to provide you with either Rubrix, Stalon, or Emeret Ore. All of these are used for various things, and depending on what you're looking to craft, you might get more excited by finding one type of Moonstone compared to the other.
Moonstones are visible on the minimap as a few different variations of a rock-like symbol, depending on the type of outcrop that it is. It's worth noting that all players in the server share the same resource nodes, meaning another player can beat you to it.
You can mine ore or collect any resource whatsoever while getting damaged, but if your character is stunned, it resets your gathering animation to zero and you'll need to re-initiate it.
While Moonstones can be found across the map, there are certain sections where a higher concentration of them is available. These locations include the southern shore of the map, including around Spiral Cliff. There are also large concentrations of it just south of the Shattered Temple, and quite a bit of it scattered across Urstella Fields.
What Are Moonstones Used For?
Moonstones are used to craft various types and quality of armor and weapons throughout the game. You can check the crafting menu at any time to find the recipe for anything that you currently have the recipe to craft. You can check for exactly what kind of Moonstone you'll need to find in order to collect the exact Ore you'll need, as well.
Much of the time, you won't have quite enough of a certain Ore to make what you need. In that case, you can often convert a lower-quality version of the Ore you need into the higher quality version that you can use, saving you the time of going to try and find some of the rare variety.
Where To Find Marind Ore
You're likely going to come across Marind Ore a bit less often than Moonstones, but that doesn't mean it's difficult to find; you just have to know where to look. One of the easiest ways to find Marind Ore is on the back of Gigantrite, the giant friendly flying Whale that graces Solisium with its presence.
Above is going to be your most surefire way of gathering Marind Ore, but it's not the only way. When it's raining, you can gather Marind Ore from resource nodes around the map, as well. But, unless you're controlling the weather, it's not a surefire method; it's just something to take advantage of when the time is right.
Apart from gathering them from mining, you can also gain Marind Ore from defeating certain enemies; namely, from defeating enemies in the open-world Dungeons. You'll need Abyss Contract Tokens in order to have the chance for Marind Ore to drop, and provided you do, grinding through enemies in Syleus's Abyss and the Ant Nest can be a great way to farm Marind Ore.
What Is Marind Ore Used For?
Marind Ore is primarily used to craft Skill Growth Books, which are books needed to level up your skills. You're going to end up needing quite a few of these, and while doing Quests, particularly the leveling Quest, rewards you with a lot of them, you'll typically need to start crafting them once you hit level 50.
The type of Marind Ore you'll need for each type of book corresponds to the quality of the Ore: you'll need green quality Marind Ore for a green-quality Skill Growth Book, blue for blue, and purple for purple. If you've got an abundance of lower-quality Ore and need a higher quality, you can convert the Ore at a 15:1 ratio.
How To Get The Wandering Youth Gneiss Amitoi
Ores aren't the only thing you can get from mining rocks in Throne and Liberty. There's an Amitoi on the line, too; the Wandering Youth Gneiss Amitoi can be obtained randomly from mining Moonstone or Marind Ore. There seems to be a very low drop rate for the Wandering Youth Gneiss Amitoi, but that makes it all the sweeter when you manage to grab it.
Collecting the Wandering Youth Gneiss Amitoi adds one of the two Amitoi needed to complete the Sollands Abundance Pal Synergy in the Amitoi Lithograph Book. Gathering both the Wandering Youth Gneiss and the Sprouting Talem Amitoi will passively grant you 0.5 percent extra Sollant from then on, giving a nice little bonus.
