Moreover, Kanae's death at the hands of Doma, a powerful demon second to Muzan Kibutsuji and Kokushibo, is a turning point in Shinobu's life. Instead of the poison working towards weakening Doma, it is easily nullified and even heals the demon. Moreover, Shinobu knows that a direct fight would be futile given Doma's power, so she tries poisoning him slowly. When Shinobu successfully hits him, the plan, however, comes at a significant cost. Shinobu's ribs and collarbone are cut in the process of injecting Doma with a large amount of poison since small doses of her poison are easily nullified. As Shinobu faces the brink of death, she remains resolute, embodying the spirit of a true Hashira.

Before the final battle against Muzan, Shinobu preempted that he could face Doma, and she prepared ahead due to the demon's powerful abilities. Shinobu's grand plan is the Wisteria poison− she infused the poison into her body as the final attempt to kill him fails. After Shinobu took a lethal blow from Doma, the demon finally consumed her. Shinobu died knowing that Doma would also meet his end. In other words, her death underscores the high stakes of the battle against demons, thus highlighting how vengeance can sometimes lead to death and the immense sacrifices required to protect humanity.

Despite the tragic end of Shinobu, she played a crucial role even after her demise. Inosuke Hashibira and Kanao Tsuyuri took over after Doma devoured Shinobu and fought the demon with all their strength. However, Doma soon realizes that the dead Shinobu still have a role to play in the battle. The massive amount of Wisteria poison in Shinobu's body soon starts to materialize in Doma and begins to kill him from the inside. As the Wisteria poison kills him from the inside, he also has to face Inosuke and Kanao in his weak state. In the end, Doma lost, and Shinobu's death was the turning point that gave the other two demon slayers a fighting chance. Even with Shinobu's tragic fate, her legacy and sacrifice will be remembered by the two demon slayers who carried on the mantle of responsibility to defeat Doma. In the end, Shinobu's character arc is a poignant exploration of loss, sacrifice, and the enduring human spirit.
