Spoilers for the ending of Demon Slayer!!The final chapters of Demon Slayer are the most action-packed, tragic, and exhilarating of the entire manga, encompassing the final and most pivotal battle in the entire series. During the fight against Lord Muzan, the Demon King, the Demon Slayers suffered many losses, deaths, and long-lasting injuries. Tanjiro Kamado, the main character, bravely fought the demon head-on, but was gravely wounded in the process, nearly losing his life.
As Tanjiro and Muzan battled, the mighty demon took note of Tanjiro's skill in battle. He was impressed by Tanjiro's exceptional Breathing Style, the rare Hinokami Kagura style. The powerful technique, also known as Sun Breathing, was invented by Tanjiro's ancestors and is distinct to his family, giving him an advantage over other demon slayers.
As well as possessing this one of a kind technique, Tanjiro is also persistent, clever, physically strong, and refuses to give up. Because of all of these talents, Tanjiro captured Muzan's attention, even as he lay there, slowly dying from his injuries and blood loss.
The Demon King, Muzan, Transformed Tanjiro Kamado Into a Demon for a Brief Time Using His Blood
Thankfully, Tanjiro’s Friends Gave Him a Medicine Designed to Weaken Demons, Restoring His Humanity
Muzan revived Tanjiro, but not out of kindheartedness, he hoped to take advantage of Tanjiro's tremendous skill and power. All demons originated from Muzan, and the most indestructible Upper Rank demons in the series were created by him. He used his blood to transform Tanjiro into a demon too, stripping him of his humanity temporarily. Tanjiro was only a demon for a short while, but he proved he was the greatest demon to ever live in that short time. It became clear that demon Tanjiro was motivated, powerful, and deadly enough to kill even Muzan himself, the one who gave him these new talents.

Muzan Kibutsuji shows different human forms throughout the story, and Demon Slayer's official fanbook explains the reason for each disguise.
Tanjiro's unshakable willpower and the gifts he received from his ancestors in the Kamado family make him one of Demon Slayer's strongest heroes, explaining why his demon form is virtually unstoppable. Even for someone like Tanjiro, who adores his friends and family above anything else and would do anything to ensure their safety, the demon instincts were too uncontrollable to resist, and he began fighting the very people he swore to protect. Thankfully, his loved ones were able to reverse the effects the demon Muzan caused by giving Tanjiro medicine that was originally created to weaken Muzan himself.

Demon Slayer will be finishing with a trilogy of movies depicting the Infinity Castle arc. Here's everything we currently know about the new movies.
The demon power Muzan injected into Tanjiro only heightened the abilities he already possessed, placing the accomplished demon slayer on a new and terrifying level. He developed razor sharp fangs, the pupils of his once bright and friendly eyes turned into terrifying slits, birthmarks that look like flames appeared on his body, and he even created a few tentacles. To go along with this new horrific appearance, he was also able to heal himself from injuries instantly, even regenerating an entire arm he lost in the previous fight, making him almost uncontrollable, and more menacing than he had ever been previously.
In an Alternate Universe, Tanjiro Could Have Been Demon Slayer’s Most Horrific Villain
His Incredible Powers Are Unmatched by Any Other Character, but Luckily, He Uses Them for Good and Not Evil
Tanjiro's friends were truly lucky to have succeeded in restoring Tanjiro's humanity, because he could have become the series' most terrifying villain if he had stayed an evil demon. Tanjiro was always destined to be a hero, so it is fortunate that he was surrounded by loved ones dedicated to helping him become human again. Tanjiro's human abilities, like his amazing sense of smell and physical strength, coupled with the regeneration and menacing physical attributes of his demon form, would definitely have allowed him to become the greatest threat in Demon Slayer history, and no one would have had any hope of stopping him.
