Import and Export
Exchange data in 30+ supported 3D CAD and BIM formats, preserving every bit of content: structure, geometry, metadata and appearances. Import data from proprietary formats such as SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, NX and Creo without expensive CAD software. Export data to STEP, JT, glTF, FBX and other 3D and CAD formats. Enjoy blazing fast conversions thanks to intelligent parallel processing.
Browse available formats Full access to structure, properties and PMI
View B-Rep and polygonal geometry in a fully-featured and customizable 3D viewer. Browse the part-assembly structure and query components' validation and custom properties. Explore PMI through specially prepared saved views or by browsing annotations individually.
Look deeper into the 3D data
Tap into the precise geometry by measuring positions of vertices, lengths of edges, as well as distances and radii using your measurement units of choice. Create sectioned views to study the model's internals. See the interplay of parts and subassemblies in exploded views.
Edit and tweak your models
Split and merge models from various formats. Rename and color objects. Move and rotate parts and assemblies with Manipulator to rearrange models to your liking. Generate high-quality meshes for 3D rendering or numerical analysis. Save the result to the CAD Exchanger's proprietary format for further edits, or export to your format of choice.

Upon completing your purchase you will receive a serial number via email, which you will need to register. Please follow

CADExchangerLab scans available MAC addresses and selects the most stable one (e.g. connected to a network card or Wi-Fi adapter). You can override that and select any other available MAC address.
We understand that sometimes hardware fails or requires an upgrade. For subscription licenses, we provide one free reassignment to another computer every four months. This reassignment can be done directly in the application or by contacting us.
A floating licensing model allows to "share" access to the application so that it can be used on different PCs (unlike the node-locked license).
To enable this mechanism, your system administrator must install a license server that manages end-user licenses in your environment. Simultaneous use of the software is limited by the number of purchased licenses. To let one more user run the software, any of the current users must close the program and thus release the license.
The license key is tied to the license server via its MAC address. The users can connect to the server via the local network or VPN.
Make sure your environment meets system requirements as described in the license guide
Subscription is a licensing model that grants time-limited right. CADExchangerLab will stop functioning once your subscription period is over. Subscription is priced at a flat fee, which is lower than a new perpetual license fee.
Perpetual license enables life-time usage of the CADExchangerLab. New license includes first period of maintenance (1 or 3 years), i.e. access to new releases of CADExchanger. After that, although the app will continue to function, you will no longer be eligible to new CADExchanger releases. To continue that, you will need to renew your maintenance (which is a small fraction of the new license fee).
Price-wise, the subscription is good due to lower upfront payment, whereas the perpetual license is more beneficial in the long-run.
Price parity is achieved within three-four years, so if you are going to use CADExchanger for more than that it's better to invest into the perpetual license.
Subscription can be better for shorter projects, e.g. for freelancers and smaller companies, to reduce upfront investments.
For bigger customers and enterprises the perpetual licenses can be better, as purchasing approval cycles may take longer, and you may need continuous access to the software.
Subscription is a traditional time-restricted license. So your license will expire and you will no longer be able to use CADExchangerLab, and the app will just stop working. Should you decide to resume your subscription you will pay a then current fee.
You have 30 days grace period after the due renewal date. If you let your maintenance lapse then you will no longer be eligible to receive new releases of CADExchanger. Your version of CADExchangerLab will still continue to run however.
Should you decide to resume your lapsed maintenance you will need to pay a welcome-back fee, which is 90% of a then current new license fee. Thus, keeping your maintenance active is more cost-effective from financial standpoint.
Both subscription and maintenance grant you access to all new CADExchanger versions released during their active period.
Every new release contains multiple enhancements including:
- new features (geometry types, PMI, product configurations, meta-data, etc)
- new formats (e.g. Revit, Navisworks, etc)
- new versions of supported formats (e.g. IFC4.3, SOLIDWORKS 2023, CATIA V5 R32)
- new OS and platforms versions (e.g. BigSur on macOS, M1 processor, etc)
- numerous bug fixes
New versions of CADExchangerLab are released 4-8 times a year (refer to our blog), so you will soon be missing out on a lot of of new features, improvements, and bug corrections.
Should you decide to resume your maintenance, you will have to pay a higher re-joining ('welcome-back') fee, which is 90% of the new license fee. A more prudent approach from a business and financial standpoint is to maintain active maintenance.
